Celebration of Life
On Monday April 8, 2019, God looked out on the battlefield and saw a beautiful flower who had labored hard and called her home to eternal rest.
Mrs. Allean Sutton Meadows was born on January 15, 1935 in Monroe (Union County) North Carolina to the late Albertas Sutton and Allean Porter Sutton. She departed this life at Hospice of Union County, Monroe, NC.
Allean grew up in Monroe, North Carolina and at an early age, she confessed her faith and joined Mt. Calvary AME Zion Church.
Allean served as an Usher, Deaconess, Member of Pastor Aid Society, and Missionary and Class Leader of Mt. Calvary AME Zion Church and remained faithful until her health declined.
Allean was a graduate of Winchester High School. She met and married her high school sweetheart. Henry and Allean were married for 61 years and dated for about 4-5 years.
Allean was employed at Roses Department Store and Wilma’s Daycare. She loved taking care and teaching children in her home. Her most precious and rewarding accomplishment was being a wife and mother of three children. Being a homemaker, cooking, sewing, and making her family brought her the most joy. She loved God, loved people, and led by example.
She was born in a family of seven children and was preceded in death by her siblings: Albert Henry Sutton, Sarah Sutton, Odessa Louis Sutton Nelson, Ruby Sutton, and Austin Sutton. Her son, Todd Meadows.
Those left to cherish fond and loving memories are her husband Henry of the home; three children Taffy Rankin and Teresa Meadows Hayes (Cassius) both of Union County, NC. One brother, James Sutton of Union County, NC, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
