Eugene Alsbrooks, Sr.

Mr. Eugene Alsbrooks, Sr. was born into this life on June 7, 1937.  He was the son of the late Mr. Calvin and Mrs. Ossie Lee Ellis Alsbrooks.  He gained his Heavenly wings and went home to be with the Lord on March 18, 2019.

Eugene accepted Christ at an early age and served as a faithful and dedicated member of St. Davie Baptist Church for several years.

Eugene was employed by Riggins & Moore Plumbing Company for 35 years, and he also worked for Carolina’s Medical Center - Union for 15 years, after which, he retired.

Eugene was educated in the early Union County School System, Thomasville School, McCain School, and Western Union School.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents: Carl and Ossie Alsbrooks; two brothers: Roy Alsbrooks and Sylvester Alsbrooks; two sisters: Elizabeth Barbour and Coreen Lane and an infant daughter: Cassandra Lynn Alsbrooks.

He leaves precious memories to be cherished by his wife of 58 years: Josephine Alsbrooks; one daughter: Sheila Lolita Funderburk (Boyce); three sons: Eugene Alsbrooks, Jr., Minister Wesley Alsbrooks (Anita), and Alex Alsbrooks (Vontavia), all of Monroe, North Carolina; three brothers: Carl Alsbrooks, Jr., and John Edward Alsbrooks (Lela), both of Manhattan, New York, and James Alsbrooks of Monroe, North Carolina; three sisters: Pauline Jordan, Betty McClendon and Shirley House (Paul) all of Monroe, North Carolina; nine grandchildren;  twenty great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
