Paul Gillis

Mr. Paul Gillis was born October 17, 1939 to Ms. Geneva Bullard Gillis and the late Sylvester Gillis. Paul departed to be with our Heavenly Father on March 3, 2019.

Paul was a faithful and dedicated member of the Piney Grove East Baptist Church in Wingate, North Carolina until his health declined. He loved his church family and had a second row seat every Sunday.

Also a major part of Kingdom Citizens Outreach Ministry where he served others as unto the Lord (HE WILL BE MISSED).

Paul attended Scotland County Schools. He was retired from Union County Public Schools as a head custodian and safety manager.

He was preceded in death by three brothers: Sylvester Gillis, Jr., Robert Lee Gillis, and Lewon Gillis; one sister: Margret Bullard.

He leaves to cherish his memories to his wife of 42 years: Minister Dianne L. Gillis; eight children: Elder Debra Marsh (Wayne) of Mineral Springs, North Carolina, Gary Leak (Melinda) of Marshville, North Carolina, Jeana Fincher, Timothy Leak (Rita) of Wingate, North Carolina, Mark Leak (Joann) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Pastor Derrick Leak (Crystal) of Kannapolis, North Carolina, Steven Leak of Sanford, North Carolina, Dwayne Leak of Charlotte, North Carolina; a special son: Deacon Larry Bivens (Ann) of Monroe, North Carolina whom all loved him dearly!!!

His mother: Ms. Geneva Gillis who will be 100 years young next of Laurinburg, North Carolina; two brothers: Irvin Gillis (Carrie) of Tabor City, North Carolina and Harvey Gillis (Jackie); one sister: Patricia Gillis Campbell of Laurinburg, North Carolina; his beloved sixteen GRANDCHILDREN, eighteen GREAT-GRANDS; brothers - in - laws: Deacon Charlie Leak, Willie Leak (Ann), Jerry Leak (Dasey); sister - in - law: Margie Leak all of Wingate, North Carolina a host of nieces, nephews, who loved UNCLE PAUL along with many other family members and friends.
