Russell Bernard Massey

Mr. Russell Bernard Massey was born on November 17, 1950 to the Late James Massey, Sr. and Mrs. Madie M. Massey. He entered into eternal rest and peace on April 3, 2019.

Russell was born and raised in Monroe, North Carolina. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1970. After high school, Russell worked for Vick Shaw Plumbing. He later worked for Cooper Tool Service for twenty-five years. Russell was always “the life of the party or the occasion.”  He loved people, clothes, music and all kinds of electrical gadgets. He was gifted in assembling things and was readily available to put his nieces and nephews toys together. He simply liked to have fun.

He was preceded in death by his parents: James Massey, Sr. and Madie Mobley Massey. He was also preceded in death by his oldest brother, James Massey, Jr.

Russell leaves to cherish his memories: two brothers, Harry M. Massey (Virginia) and Charles S. Massey (Magdalene); one sister, Alice E. Massey; and one sister-in-law, Ruth J. Massey, all of Monroe. He also has two nephews, two nieces, four great nieces and many cousins.
