Van Cureton Obituary

Mr. Van Cureton ( TI as everyone called him), was born to the late Mozel Staton on July 10, 1948 in Union County, North Carolina and departed this life on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at his home.He was preceded in death by his son Anthony Van Brewer, his brothers; Douglas Cureton and John Lewis, and his sisters; Vanessa Ann and Shelia Ann.

TI was educated at Winchester High School where he was part of the first integrated class at Monroe High School, the class of 1967.  

TI worked for W.E.B. Masonry for 37 years.  He was also a member of the “Black Men of Monroe” for 19 years.  He was honorable discharged from the United States Army.

He leaves to cherish loving and fond memories to his daughter; Katherine B. Brewer of Washington, D.C. Three sisters; Vance Cureton, Rosetta Bivens, and Sandra Cureton all of Monroe, North Carolina.  Two brothers; Adam Cureton (JoAnne) and Ray Cureton both of Monroe, North Carolina. Two grandchildren; Antwone Brewer and Brandon Anthony Onley. Seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
