Mrs. Willie Mae Guillot, daughter of the late Fanny Haile Kirkland and James Kirkland was born May 28, 1933 in Kershaw County, South Carolina and departed this life on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at Carolina Health Care Union in Monroe, North Carolina.
Willie Mae (affectionately known as Sissy) attended Mather Academy. After graduation, she moved to Durham, North Carolina. In Durham she was employed at Duke University then later moved to Brooklyn, New York and began a career at Long Island University Hospital.
At Long Island University Hospital Willie Mae met her late husband, Joseph Guillot. From their union, she had four children: Susan Guillot of Brooklyn, New York, Lavin Guillot of Queens, New York, Lonzenia Guillot of Monroe, North Carolina and the late Shawn Guillot.
Willie Mae returned to North Carolina later in life settling in Monroe where she became a member of Children of God Full Gospel Church under the direction of Pastor Jewel Silas.
Along with her children Willie Mae leaves to cherish her memories daughter-in-law: Lynn Guillot; grandchildren: Terrence Guillot, Russell Guillot, Jaylynn Lemon, Nicole Guillot, Gary Guillot, Shawn Allen, Jermaine Allen and Christina Guillot along with a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
