Mr. Adam Cureton, son of the late Fannie Mozelle Cureton, was born January 6, 1951, in Monroe, North Carolina and departed this life on Monday September 20, 2021 at Atrium Health Union, Monroe, North Carolina.
Adam was a graduate of Monroe High School, class of 1970. He later went into the manufacturing industry and worked at Oro Manufacturing Company for 44 years, where he retired in 2019. He was an avid golfer with the Monroe Duffers at the Monroe Country Club in Monroe, North Carolina.
On February 13, 1971, he was united in holy matrimony to Joanne Byrum Cureton. Adam was proceeded in death by his two brothers Douglas Cureton (Theresa) and Van (T.I) Cureton and one grandchild Kayden Craig. He leaves to cherish his loving memories: two sons Adam Cureton (Deidra) of Springs, Texas and Timothy Cureton (Vibrina) of Monroe, North Carolina, two daughters Mildred (Nina) Blakeney (Richard) of Waxhaw, North Carolina and Adrian Craig (Rashard) of Monroe, North Carolina and a bonus daughter Lakeisha Blount (Rodney) of Indian Trail, North Carolina, one brother Ray Cureton of Monroe, North Carolina, three sisters Rosetta Biven of Charlotte, North Carolina, Vance Cureton of Monroe, North Carolina and Sandra Cureton of Monroe, North Carolina, 9 grandchildren Desrez Blakeney (Marcus) of Monroe, North Carolina, Myca Gilmore (Tyree) of Springs, Texas, Jaleighsa Blakeney of Charlotte, North Carolina, Richard Blakeney (Alexus) of Monroe, North Carolina, Adam Cureton Jr of Springs, Texas, Alyssa Cureton of Springs, Texas, Maciah Cureton of Monroe, North Carolina, Laila Craig of Monroe, North Carolina and Mason Craig of Monroe, North Carolina. 3 bonus grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Those who knew Adam knew he was a dedicated supporter of the Monroe High School “RedHawks”, where you could always find him in the stands at the football game on the 50-yard line.
