Allene Tillman Simms was born on Tuesday September 15, 1936, to the late Samuel D. Tillman and Alice Washington Tillman in Union County, North Carolina. On Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Atrium Health Hospice Care in Monroe, North Carolina, Allene peacefully departed this life. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Owen Simms; her son Mervin L. Blake; her sister, Verla T. Ferguson; and her brother, Olie W. Tillman. Allene received her education through the Union County School System. Throughout her life, she worked diligently at various jobs, though her greatest passion was found in housekeeping, where her attention to detail truly shined. Allene was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished sister, caring aunt, proud grand mother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and faithful friend. She deeply loved her family and took great joy in traveling and gathering with them at every opportunity. Known for her meticulous nature, Allene approached every task with dedication and care.
