Bessie Lewis Wison was born to the late Henry Franklin Faulkner and Rebecca Marshall Faulkner in Union County, North Carolina on July 19, 1934. She departed this life on Sunday June 15, 2025 at her home in Monroe, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Joseph Wilson.
Mrs. Wilson received her elementary and high school education at Winchester Ave. School. She worked at Union County Hospital as a KitchenAid, until she moved up North to New York City and started a family. She lived and worked in New York City for many years, until she married and moved out onto Long Island, Mrs. Wilson had a job at a nursing home called Brunswick for almost 10 years as a Nursing Aide. She enjoyed that job making long lasting friends. Mrs. Wilson had to quick that job because of her health. Mrs. Wilson had to go on Disability, but that did not stop her. She continued to work, just not as busy. She became a Home Health Aide and made many friends with the people she worked for. Mrs. Wilson had to return to Monroe, North Carolina to take care of her sisters, Pearlie Estelle Chambers and Lula Faulkner. Estelle passed 1998 and her other sister passed in 2004. Later on, her brother Andrew Faulkner passed away. A few years later she moved to Waco, Texas and stayed near her sons, Jeff Johnson and his family, and Joseph Faulkner for more than 4 years. She decided to move back to Monroe, North Carolina. Mrs. Wilson returned to Friendship Missionary Church where she belonged to the Usher Board, and the Youth Missionary. Mrs. Wilson lived a fruit full life, traveling to different states, vacations with family and enjoy life. She lived a good life. Her last big trip was Myrtle Beach for her birthday in 2022. She loved being around water.
Mrs. Wilson leaves to cherish fond memories: her sister Dorothy Hood of Monroe, North Carolina, Her 5 children, Ruth Wilson of Monroe, North Carolina, Jeff Johnson of Bellmead, Texas, Joseph Faulkner of West Virginia, Roy Lewis of Monroe, North Carolina, and Mark Lewis, Monroe North Carolina. A daughter-in-law Evelyn Johnson of Bellmead, Texas. And a host of nieces, nephews, grandkids, great grands and great great grand child.
