Minister Betty Gracie Mae Crowder, daughter of Laycola Rorie Crowder and the late James L. Crowder was born April 11, 1960 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina and departed this life on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at her home.
Betty accepted Christ at an early where she joined the Nicey Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Wingate, North Carolina where she served faithfully for several years as President of the Usher Board and Church Secretary.
Betty was a licensed in 2001 as a Minister. She serve faithfully until her health declined. Betty attended East Union School in Marshville, North Carolina and graduated from Forest Hills High School. She attended Central Piedmont Community College where she received an Associate Degree in Accounting where she served her neighborhood with her skills in preparing taxes and helping others.
She was preceded in death by her one sister: Maggie Louise Rorie; two brothers: Alphonzo Crowder and Shelton Lee Crowder.
She leaves to cherish fond memories a loving son: Brandon Isaiah Crowder of the home; a loving mother: Mrs. Laycola Crowder of Wingate, North Carolina; six sisters: Catherine Simpson (Charles), Diane Crowder, Debra Crowder, Tammy McCormick all of Wingate, North Carolina, Barbara Deese (Harold) of Marshville, North Carolina and Verlinda Jordan (Rev. Dale S. Jordan) of Monroe, North Carolina; four brothers: Calvin Crowder (Carol) of Stallings, North Carolina, James L. Crowder of Wingate, North Carolina, Quinton E. Crowder (Connie) of Monroe, North Carolina, and
Rodney Crowder of Wingate, North Carolina; two aunts: Darlina Clark and Doretha Sellers of Peachland, North Carolina; one uncle: John Sellers of Peachland, North Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
