Charles Samuel Massey Sr.

Mr. Charles Samuel Massey, Sr., was born December 4, 1942 to the late James Massey, Sr. and Mrs. Madie Mobley Massey. He transitioned peacefully from  this earthly life to his eternal rest on Saturday, October 3, 2020.

Charles was born and raised in Monroe, North Carolina. He graduated from Winchester Avenue High School in 1960 after his high school he joined the United States Navy where he served his country for nine years and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was honorably discharged on December 1, 1969.where he received several medals:  Armed Forces Expeditionary Ribbon (Vietnam), National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 4 bronze stars, Navy Unit Commendation, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device.

He was preceded in death by his parents: James Massey, Sr. and  Mars. Madie Mobley Massey, his oldest brother: James Massey, Jr. and his youngest brother: Russell Bernard Massey.

Charles leaves to cherish fond memories his wife of forty-nine years, Mrs. Magdaline Alsbrooks  Massey of the home. One son: Charles Samuel Massey, Jr. (LaShawnda), one daughter: Tia Massey Malone (Garrett), one granddaughter: Skylar Malone all of Concord ,North Carolina.. One brother: Harry Massey (Virginia) and one sister: Ms. Alice E. Massey and sister-in-law: Mrs. Ruth J. Massey all of Monroe, North Carolina. He also leaves nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
