Mr. David Gene Streater (a.k.a. "P. Y." to close family and friends), 74, of Indian Trail, North Carolina was born to the late Rev. Tump Streater and Avery Kathleen Alsobrooks Streater-Grier, on March 23rd, 1951 in Union County, North Carolina. David was educated in the Union County School System. He attended Western Union School in Waxhaw, NC during his elementary school years. He also attended Sun Valley High School in Monroe, NC. David joined the United States Marine Corp as a teenager and completed his high school education in the U.S. Marine Corp. David was a very adventurous growing up as a child. During his high school, he was very athletic and post military years he enjoyed being active. He participated in football, track and field, baseball and boxing. He received a number of awards and recognitions for his outstanding achievements. He was employed at Martin Marietta-Baker's Quarry in Monroe NC until his retirement. During his leisure time he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing and hunting.
