Donna Sharon (Baldwin) Gass

Donna Sharon Baldwin-Gass, departed this life peacefully on Thursday, May 16, 2019, at home with her family in Monroe, NC, at the age of sixty-four.  She was born October 14, 1954, in Elizabeth, NJ to George and Hattie Baldwin.

Donna was a 1972 graduate of Abraham Clark High School in Roselle, NJ. While attending high school, she held the role of color-guard with great confidence for three years, where she gracefully translated the music of the marching band through the work of rifles and dance on the grassland of Simpson Field, now known as Arminio Athletic Field.

For her the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  Donna Sharon Baldwin-Gass confessed salvation in December 2013.

Before retiring in 2014, Donna also known as "Miss Donna" by co-workers and direct reports, led a team of mortgage  underwriters with CitiGroup Financial.  She displayed a wonderful knack for leading and managing others.  In response to her diligent team efforts and helping others to grow within the workplace, Donna was promoted to Jr. Vice President.

Donna truly lived her earthly life through simple pleasures, reading books, singing, chatting with family and friends, spending time with her children and grand-children, and watching Law & Order.  Her favorite authors were Bebe Moore-Campbell, John Grisham, James Patterson, and Stephen King.  Song-writers that she listened to with great passion were Oleta Adams, The Winans, Anita Baker, Basia, Mali Music and 2-Pac.

Donna had a humble, yet assertive ability to reach people in a deep and positive way.  She touched the lives of family, friends, and many others.

Donna was preceded in death by her brother Andrew Scott Harrison Baldwin (2015) and her father George Baldwin Jr. (2017).

Donna is survived by her mother, Hattie Baldwin, daughter, Etera T. Pendleton (Robert Sr.), son Marcus Gass (Dawn), two sisters; Rhonda "Bun" Smitherman (Robert) and Jodi Baldwin.  Two brothers; Eric Baldwin and Jason Baldwin, four grand-children; Robert Pendleton, Jr., Madison Gass, Etera D. Pendleton, and Ha'nniah Pendleton, four nieces; Narissa Roper (Kenneth), Venus Smitherman, Shantai Baldwin, Erica Baldwin, Rebecca Ancrum (Mark), two grand-nieces; nataliaJustice and Nova Ancrum.  Two grand-nephews; Ahmad Sturdivant, Jr. and Ahmari Strudivant and many cousins and friends.
