Doris Jean Marsh

Doris Jean Marsh was born September 7, 1931 to the late Sinic Marsh and Ollie Simon of Union County, North Carolina. Doris departed her life in Marshville, North Carolina. She was the last surviving child of Sinic and Ollie Marsh.

Doris attended Marshville High School and worked several years for Cuddy Farms in Marshville, NC. She was a member of Flint Ridge Baptist Church. Doris loved to crochet and over the years, many of her nieces received lovely scarves, booties, of Barbie dolls with crocheted outfits. Doris had regular visits from many of her nieces and nephews before her declining health.

Doris was a resident of Autumn Care Nursing Facility in Marshville. Several members of the staff spoke highly of Doris nothing that she as an avid reader and loved reading the local newspaper. We all know that Doris was a lady of few words, but when she spoke, we listened !

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Dora Robinson (Isom) and Beatrice Redfern (Claude); five brothers: Curtis (Joyce), Kelly (Zaddie), Henry (Wilma), O.C. (Lena Ruth), and Wallace Marsh (Verla).

Left to cherish Doris's memory are sister-in-law, Verla Marsh, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Even though Doris never had children, she had many great and great-great nieces ad nephews who knew and loved her.
