Dwane Hampton Dickson Sr. Obituary

On January 7, 1961, Dwane Hampton Dickson, the youngest of 11, was born to Coleridge Dickson and Dorothy Dickson in Port Chester, New York. During this time, Dorothy was living in Stamford, Connecticut but in transit to visit her parents Herman Hines and Corine Hines in Manhattan, New York. Dwane was welcomed into the world on Saturday the 7th of January in 1961.

Dwane spent some time in Stamford, Connecticut with his mother and other siblings prior to moving to Bridgeport Connecticut where he attended primary school. After spending some time in Bridgeport, Dwane moved to Ansonia Connecticut where he started a new chapter of his life. Dwane attended Ansonia High School and vocational training school prior to joining Connecticut Army National Guard.

Ansonia was where he met his spouse Kenya Gregg, not knowing that being friends with her cousin was going to bridge two families together for a long journey of what we call life.

Dwane and Kenya spent their lives together since high school. Nearly 50 years of creating new memories and a rememberable journey raising two children, Dwane Hampton Dickson Jr. and Dominique Dickson.

Dwane was indeed a jack of all trades, utilizing his many resources to learn new skills and become self-employed.

His past time enjoyment involved traveling, attending jazz concerts, cooking, talking on the phone with family and spending time with his granddaughter, Brionna Dickson.

Dwane Hampton passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at his home in Monroe, NC. Dwane was a husband, father, and grandfather.
