Eloise Walker Fetherson was born February 17, 1938 in York County, SC to the late Will and Demetrius
Walker Fetherson. She departed this life on October 7, 2025 at Atrium Health Pineville in Pineville, NC.
Eloise was the fifth child out of her seven siblings, five brothers and one sister, all of which preceded her in
death. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Ora Fetherson Hasty and great grandson, Amarkeyon
Truesdale.
Eloise lived in the Marvin community most of her life. She attended Marvin School until its destruction, then
attended Western Union School. She left school early to provide for her family. She did domestic work in the
Marvin area and worked at Wright’s Dry Cleaners in Charlotte before becoming a seamstress at the
Pennsylvania House Furniture Company, where she worked for almost 32 years until her retirement.
