James Peter Lindsey, the son of the late George Lee Lindsey and Daisy
Wall Lindsey Tate was born on August 9, 1950 in Wadesboro, NC. He
made his final transition to Heaven in the presence of family on Friday,
November 6, 2020 at Atrium Health-Union Hospital in Monroe, North
Carolina.
God-fearing: James was a family man who had a strong love for Christ,
his first priority. He allowed God to use him to counsel numerous
individuals- never missing an opportunity to share the Word when the
moment presented itself.
Love of Cars: After completing high school and trade school in New
Jersey, he owned and operated a number of auto body shops, and later
continued buying, selling, and working on automobiles.
Awesome Cook: Upon returning to North Carolina and retiring from
the North Carolina Department of Transportation, he spent endless
hours entertaining family and friends with elaborate stories (as he
called it “telling lies” at the table), toying around with his antique cars,
and preparing the MOST AMAZING MEALS. Every Sunday was a
holiday meal prepared to feed an entire neighborhood. It was a
gathering place for so many; he will surely be missed.
Love of People: He never met a stranger and never let a guest leave
without trying to feed them. Always offering to help and looking out for
everyone around him. He was a true servant… full of wisdom… with a
huge appetite for food and life.
