Jannie Mae (Ivey) Lockhart, affectionately known as Jannie Mae, was
born on September 11, 1940, in Union Couty to the late Chester Ivey and
Marie Gladden Ivey. She quietly departed this life on November 26, 2025,
at Hospice of Union County.
She began her education at Red Level Elementary School and later
attended Winchester High School in Union County.
Throughout her working years, Jannie held several occupations, including
serving as a seamstress with Comar Industries, working on the Clean-Up
Crew with Central Soya, and later as a cashier with Walmart.
Early in life, she accepted Christ and united with Elizabeth Baptist Church
of Monroe, North Carolina.
