Jaylen Kendall-Brooks graced the world with goodness, love, and light. He was kindness personified, always willing to lend a helping hand, and he always said it was his pleasure. He glowed with an inner light and innate charm, he didn’t even know he possessed. He was an old-school, old soul in a 20-year-old body. He danced to the beat of his own drum, even as he played the saxophone. Among his greatest joys were marathon movie nights with his siblings, gaming with Roman, or just hanging out with Papa and Linda. He loved The Commodores, Luther Vandross, and Bobby Womack. He loved, Loved, LOVED being a Tarheel, but he loved his family even more – and boy do we love him. Jaylen Kendall-Brooks graced the world with goodness, love, and light. We hope they are having a happy, heavenly reunion. Those of us he left behind miss him terribly, but Jaylen will live on in our hearts forever. Jaylen is survived by his paternal grandfather Humphrey Kendall and paternal grandmothers, his Mimi - Levones Chisholm and his much-beloved, Linda Kendall. He also leaves his mother, Patricia Brooks, maternal grandmother, Sheila Brooks, and maternal grandfather, Rick Brooks (Olga).
