Jeelan Osahar, born August 15, 1980, transitioned peacefully on November 24, 2025. A proud graduate of Miami Killian Senior High’s Class of 1998, she went on to earn her business administration degree from Tuskegee University, graduating summa cum laude in just three years (2001) — a testament to her brilliance, discipline, and drive.

Entrepreneurial at heart, Jeelan was never afraid to dream boldly. Her ventures ranged from mobile app concepts to natural beverage mixers to children’s bounce-house entertainment. Her creativity had no limits, and she pursued every idea with determination.

During her college years, Jeelan fell in love with Tuskegee and its community. She worked for her uncle, Billy Joe, at Billy Joe’s Hideaway, where she apprenticed in the restaurant and bartending world. Her hospitality skills took her to venues across the country, and she lived in several cities she happily called home — Atlanta, Charlotte, Brooklyn, and the Bronx. She ultimately returned to North Carolina to be near her sister, nieces, and nephew, because family was everything to her.

Jeelan is survived by her father, Omar; her sister, Tene; her brother, Mwai; and her beloved nieces and nephew. She is preceded in death by her mother, Lela ; her grandmother, Eudis; and her cherished canine companion, Cody.

A memorial service is being planned for the weekend of January 24, 2026.
