Johnny Terry Allen Obituary

Johnny Terry Lee Allen was born January 23, 1963 in Monroe, NC to the late Homer Lee Allen and Beatrice Thomas Huntley.  He departed his earthly life on December 9, 2021 in Charlotte, NC.

Terry, known to the community as “Chim Chim”, had a heart bigger than life for his family and the people whom he surrounded himself with.  His greatest joys and expressions of love were his daughter Teresa and his grandchildren Kell and Deysia.  In his earlier years of life, he was a dynamic athlete, who attended Forest Hills High School, with the potential of being one of the best left-handed pitchers of all time.  His athleticism did not end with baseball, as he also ran track and played basketball.  He dedicated his life to Christ at an early age and became a member of Wingate Community Church of God, later attending Christ Bible Discipleship Worship Center.  His talents were endless, from being an artist to detailing cars, and math was certainly his thing.  The greatest memories of him are his ability to love everybody, in spite of, and being the life of any and every party.  All he needed was a window of opportunity to show love and a beat, so he could do his signature “Matrix” dance!!!!

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Cecil Huntley, Joe Huntley, Robert Huntley, Mitchell Allen, and Melvin Huntley and four sisters Dorothy Huntley, Beauty Bennett, Shirley Scales, and Daisy Allen.

He is survived by his daughter: Teresa Miller of Pageland, SC; two grandchildren: Quatavis “Kell” Carelock of Monroe, NC and Adeysia Carelock, of Pageland, SC; two brothers: James Allen (Pearl), and William Allen, both of Marshville, NC; seven sisters: Etta Mae Henry of Durham, NC, Virginia McFadden (Willie) of Marshville, NC, Jessie Chambers (Dewitt) of Marshville, NC, Edith Hailey (Robert) of Kannapolis, NC, Glenda Williams (Tony) of Monroe, NC, Phyllis Deese (Phillip) of Monroe, NC, and Dwala Allen of Monroe, NC; one aunt: Deaconess Joyce Wilson (Aaron), of Monroe, NC and one uncle: Carol Thomas of Marshville, NC; special nephews: Cecil and Donnill Huntley, both of Monroe, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
