Morden Davis, daughter of the late James Austin and the late Lessie Davis was born on June 15, 1933 in Lancaster, South Carolina. She departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, October 16, 2021 in Waxhaw, North Carolina.
Morden graduated with the Class of 1952 from Western Union School. She was a dedicated worker and diligently served as a caretaker at Plantation Estates NSG Home and seamstress at Alisa Mills.
Morden accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She joined Wesley Chapel A.M.E Zion where she faithfully served as President of the Missionary, as a Deaconess, and on the Usher board until her health declined. She loved and was well loved by her church family and community. She will be missed.
Mo was a loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend but most of all, she was a Child of God. Morden was preceded in death by her father James Austin, her mother Lessie Davis, One daughter: Doris Cureton, Sisters: Nemiah Jordan, Curt Davis and Lessie Huey, Brothers: John (Bill) Davis and William Thomas Davis.
Morden leaves to cherish her fond memories: One brother, Jim Davis (Shirley) of Charlotte, NC; Two sisters, Carolyn Petty of Charlotte, NC and Elpositer Hood of Waxhaw. NC; Two granddaughters, Cicely Wright (Ken) of Monroe, NC and LaTonya Cureton of Waxhaw, NC; Five grandsons, Trey Mobley, Isiah Cureton, Joshua Cureton, Braylon Cureton, and KJ Wright; One great-granddaughter Karsyn Mobley; One God-daughter, Pameliar Massey and a host of nephew, nieces and other relatives.
