Mr. Samuel Stokes, Jr. son of the late Samuel Stokes, Sr. and Pearlene Funderburk Stokes was born June 25, 1953 in Winston Salem, North Carolina and departed this life on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Atrium Hospice of Monroe, North Carolina.
Samuel was better known as "Junior". He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, was baptized and joined Red Level Baptist Church at an early age. He was preceded in death by his youngest son: Rickey Lee Staton.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories: His wife: Mrs. Lora Ann Stafford Stokes. sons: Samuel Stoke, of Monroe, NC. Samuel Leak of Wingate, NC. Joshua Robinson, DeWayne McNeely of Monroe, NC. Step sons: Cornelius Stafford (Tamiya) , Michael Stafford and Tremaine Stafford of Monroe, NC. foster brother: Jethro Daniels (Bobby). Sister: Mrs. Edna Chavis (Fred) of Winston Salem, NC. His aunt: Mrs. Della Funderburk of Monroe, NC. (who always loved him was there for him and wanted him to be there for her.) his mother-in-law: Mrs. Ruth Stafford of Monroe, NC. A special cousin: Brenda Crowder who was his Spiritual Leader, helper, an advisor, eight grandchildren, niece: Pamela Fleming and nephews: Fred R. Chavis and Anthony Chavis other relatives and friends was there for him to the end.
