Samuel Streater Obituary

The Lord is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.  Psalms 34:18

Mr. Samuel Streater was born May 18, 1951 in Union County,North Carolina to the late Milton Streater and Mary Ruth McLendon Streater. He departed his earthly life at Atrium Healthcare (Main) on Sunday evening. April 26, 2020.

He attended East Union School the class of 1969.

He was employed at Tyson foods for 38 years, where he worked until his health failed him. Sam was preceded in death by his son: Shawn Phillips and daughter: Samatha Streater and his sister: Linda Ingram.

He joined Mt Moriah Baptist Church in Marshville, North Carolina at an early age. Later he joined Elizabeth Baptist Church in Marshville, North Carolina. He was a deeply devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Samuel "Sam" Streater (Bill) leaves to cherish his loving memories: Six sons: Samuel Streater, Jr. of Monroe, NC Milton "Jerome" Streater and Jovan "Tobias" Streater of the home. Brian Douglas Streater (Tony) of New York, NY. Christopher White (Jennifer) of Maryland and Cortez Grace of Indianapolis. Four daughters: Amiee Ruth Williams of Wilmington, NC., Antigone Lee (Nicholas) of Matthews, NC, Camille Hammonds (Lee) of Charlotte,NC and Charity  Grace of Gastonia, NC. Twenty-three grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren. Brothers: Jimmy Streater (Teresa) of Burnsville, NC  and David Streater (Majorie) of Marshville, NC. Sisters: Mary Everett of New York, NY , Betty Marsh (Olin) of Marshville, NC. Nancy Walker (Dickie) , Ida Horton of New York, NY and Rev. Peggy Little (Michael) of Marshville, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
