Silas Jr. Jones

Mr. Silas Jones, Jr. son of the late Silas Jones, Sr. and Jessie Ann Jones was born April 24, 1931 in     Union County, North Carolina. He made his heavenly transition on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at Atrium Health — Union, in Monroe, North Carolina.

Silas was the eighth out of twelve children and he was proceeded in death by his siblings: Mary, Louise, Robert, Geneva, Ella Bee, Sarah, Emma,     Nathaniel, Jessie, Della, and Moseley.

Silas was united in holy matrimony to Lizzie Chambers in 1951 and at that time he adopted her three year old daughter, Margie, and raised her as own.  He was a talented brick mason and possessed an array of other skills in addition to being a great handyman.

Silas was known for his sense of humor and crazy antics.  He had a passion for motorcycles and was proceeded in death by his wife of sixty-five years.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories; his daughter Margie Croutch (Ernest) of Monroe, North Carolina. Grandsons; Greg and Derek Croutch of Monroe, North Carolina and Aaron Croutch (Suzette) of Dallas, Georgia.  Great Grandsons; Gavin Croutch and Jaron Johnson.  Granddaughters; Zavia and Sanai Croutch, and D’aja Johnson.  Great-Granddaughters; Ny’Lah Wynn and Ryleigh Kendall. A special granddaughter and grandson; Dreamer Sowell and DeMarcus Heath.  Sister-in-laws; Marjorie Chambers, Myrtle Kilgo (James) and Margie Mackey and a host of  nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
