Tommy Edward Berewer I, was born on November 20, 1953. He was the son of the late Pearl Esther Curtis and Hoyle Brewer Jr. On Monday, March 22, 2021 Tommy departed his life at home. He spent most of his childhood life Monroe, North Carolina before moving to Washington, DC in 1964. During his time in DC, Tommy graduated from Spingarn High School and became proficient in several jobs. He would often help his father with brick laying jobs, by hauling bricks and scaffolding. He also worked in short and long haul trucking.
In 1995 Tommy relocated to Charlotte, NC, where he met and married his wife Cynthia. Tommy continued to work in trucking for more than 20 years while raising one of their grandchildren, Jania Young. Tommy was a character, he loved to laugh and tease and was immensely proud of all of his children. He liked to pop around the Charlotte area to visit with friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Brewer and his sister, Lessie Sharp. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Cynthia Brewer; his daughter; Althea Brewer of Maryland; Sons: Tommy Brewer of California; Wilbert Burch (Jamelia) of Lexington, NC, and Antonio Brewer of Maryland; Sister, Patricia Ann (Irvin) of Maryland. Brothers: Frank Brewer (Reta), John Brewer (Sarita), Donald Brewer all of Maryland, Ronald Brewer (Joan) of Tampa FL; Step-mother, Barbara Lee Brewer of Monroe, NC; a special cousin, Barbara B. Byrum; Special Friends: Leroy Davis, Corey Wynn, Micheal Marsh, Tracy Marsh, Dr. Williams, and Mario Blount. As well as 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grand children.
