Wayne Douglas Wilson was born in Rahway, New Jersey to Harrison and Dorothy
Wilson on October 5, 1959. He entered his reward of eternal life on Monday January 19,
2026.
Wayne’s education began in Colonia, New Jersey attending School #27, Colonia Junior
High School and ending his Public School education at Colonia Senior High School.
During his time in Public School he was in Boy Scouts of America, Colonia Baseball
Team, Colonia High School Basketball Team and Track Team.
He enjoyed spending many holidays and summers with Grandparents and cousins in
Atlantic City with his sister and parents. Wayne was the only boy of six cousins.
After graduating High School, he attended college at West Virginia University, where he
met and married Gina Waiters. From their union came two daughters Trista and Alana.
Wayne was happy and proud of being the “girl dad” and their father. His two girls were
the jewels in his King’s Crown. To provide for his family, Wayne had a long career in
Plastic Sales.
As a result of being in the Boy Scouts he developed a passion for God’s creatures. He
always had a dog in his life but none were more special or cherished than Cassius, the
dog he rescued . Wayne was known to stop traffic to help get a turtle across the road.
Another gift he had was making people feel seen and accepted as family. Wayne was
lovingly referred to as the life of the party with an infectious smile and vivacious
personality. Wayne enjoyed many hobbies including watching movies, sports, music,
collecting cars, fashion, and having a good meal. He was a source of support,
encouragement, and joy to all he encountered.
Wayne leaves to cherish his memories: his sister Wanda Wilson-Little of Griffin, Ga ,
former wife Gina Wilson of Pageland, SC, daughter Trista Wilson and grand dog Karter
Wilson of Charlotte, NC; daughter Alana Hayes and son-in-law Isaac Hayes of Charlotte,
NC; Cousins: Rev. Jodi Burroughs, Atlantic City, NJ, Patricia Bridges of Atlantic City,
NJ, Terri Thrash, Washington, DC., Lorie Carter of Egg Harbor, NJ, Nephew: Armon
Little of Houston, TX, Niece: Amber Cage & spouse Markey Cage of Charlotte,NC . Great
Nephew: Christopher Cage, Great Niece: Peyton Cage of Charlotte, NC. Along with a
lifetime’s worth of adopted family members and a multitude of loving friends.
